Over the years, I have had wonderful opportunities to volunteer in a number of rewarding activities.  In

Minneapolis I was a waiter at St. Martin's Table (all tips went to the poor) and helped on a Habitat for Humanity

rehab.  Here in San Diego, I participated in feeding the homeless through a Buddhist community, Dharma Bums.

Much of my activity in California has been with the International Student Tutor and Mentor Program at San

Diego State University.  Below are a few of the students I have helped "Americanize" as they attended SDSU.

Many have graduated with Master's degrees. Grace ended up in Australia getting a Ph.D. in linguistics and Yan We

earned her Ph.D. here in San Diego in a joint UCSD/SDSU doctoral program! (click picture to enlarge)
